To all of you out there who believe that dogs are the purest of souls....who can bring smiles to even the most dour of faces and spirits....who should be treated with more respect and love than unfortunately so many do not receive....who love you unconditionally and comfort you when you're down....this blog is for you. My fur family of choice happens to be Goldens, but all of those wagging tails in the world are special in their own breed and personality and I give paws of affection to each and every one.
We are two gorgeous strawberry blondes who live in Naples, Florida. Formerly from the Jersey Shore, we're now retired to the land of sunshine and lizards. Come and visit us...we love company, tennis balls, kisses, and belly scratches.
Raleigh....the Raleighest of Raleighs, enjoys chasing thrown tennis balls, then promptly hiding them for the gullible humans to retrieve. He loves walks around the park, having his butt scratched, and dining on dirty tissues. A real "catch," this handsome guy loves his family and friends. He'll have you at "Woof."
Lucy, our pretty, pretty princess is our resident "good-time girl." She loves to share a morning banana, lives for her pawdicures and all pampawring, and will actually purr when her neck is scratched. Never fear animal intruders, since she'll seek and destroy anything that's not quick enough to run from her speedy chase.
I'm a cheese-a-holic if truth be told. I could eat my way through a Brie, tunnel into a Gorgonzola, and get lost in a Smoked Gouda. And after I leave the Cheese-a-holics' Anonymous meeting, you'll find me in the Shoe-A-Holics front row. I'm also fascinated and mesmerized by dragonflies. I love my family....my friends.....my beautiful Goldens, entertaining and dining out. I have been described as "an enigma wrapped in a cannolli." I believe that the description fits me well. And, as former co-owner and baker for a small dessert cafe' I was able to fulfill a dream and share my love of delicious, homemade desserts with my wonderful customers.
I've also written two cookbooks, "Standing Ovations" and "Bill of Fare," and have been a contributing food writer in "The ABC's of Food."
